Role Overview
CityWest is looking for a seasoned Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting functions of a rapidly expanding organization with multiple entities. This role demands a hands-on finance expert who links business activities to financial data, proactively addresses issues, and implements effective solutions. The candidate will excel in a dynamic, demanding environment, showing initiative, flexibility, and sound judgment, while maintaining a strong interest in the business operations. Responsibility includes ensuring precise and prompt accounting across all entities, with exceptional attention to detail and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting in adherence to IFRS for multiple entities.
- Take full responsibility for timely and accurate month-end closing processes.
- Prepare detailed account reconciliations and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
- Handle reconciliations and journal entries related to fixed assets, inventory, prepaids, accruals, and other accounts.
- Support project accounting and compliance with funding requirements.
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts' accuracy.
- Produce management financial reports and design reporting dashboards.
- Facilitate external audits, tax filings, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Drive initiatives to improve accounting processes.
- Conduct financial analysis and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of senior-level accounting experience.
- Proven expertise with multi-entity structures and intercompany accounting.
- Strong understanding of IFRS standards.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings with shifting priorities and critical deadlines.
- Advanced ERP system experience, capable of independent adaptation.
- Comprehensive experience across full-cycle accounting processes.
- Knowledge of federal, provincial, and local sales tax laws.
- Experience managing external audits.
- Independent problem-solving skills with solution presentation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities.
- Skills in consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficient in Excel and strong analytical thinking.
- Self-driven with excellent multitasking abilities and a proactive approach.
- Willingness to be hands-on and actively contribute to task completion.
Additional Information
- This position requires working during Pacific Standard Time business hours.
- Compensation ranges from 95,000 to 105,000 per year.
