Job description
Overview
Join the BMW Group as an Accounting Intern where you will gain hands-on experience and be treated as a key team member from your first day. You will have your own responsibilities and the chance to present your ideas while learning in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger activities including preparing journal entries, supporting month-end close processes, ensuring financial reporting accuracy in compliance with IFRS, and conducting reconciliations and analyses of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Assist the accounting team during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities to enhance efficiency.
- Compile audit documentation such as mid-year, interim, and year-end working papers and liaise with the Accounting Manager for both internal and external auditing processes.
- Identify recurring discrepancies with the accounting team, raise system issues, and suggest solutions to the US IT team to address root causes.
- Work closely with other departments to find operational efficiencies and detect internal control weaknesses, reporting findings to the Accounting Manager.
- Support Accounts Payable functions as an additional resource.
- Contribute to special projects and analyses as assigned.
Candidate Profile
- Recent bachelor's degree graduate (within the last 12 months) in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with accounting software and Tableau Reporting is advantageous.
- Experience in preparing and analyzing account reconciliations is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
