Overview

Join a dynamic team at BMW Group dedicated to developing AI-driven vehicle features for the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. This internship offers hands-on experience contributing to innovative agent-based AI systems, including intelligent orchestration, contextual reasoning, and adaptive in-car functions within a vehicle prototype environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and prototyping agent-based AI systems utilizing advanced large language models.
  • Design and implement orchestration logic that links AI agents with structured tools and data resources.
  • Support integration and testing of AI services within a cloud-based prototype platform, specifically AWS.
  • Explore and assess agent communication models such as MCP and A2A, evaluating their real-world application.
  • Help evaluate reasoning accuracy, tool selection behavior, and overall system performance.
  • Engage in challenging, agile assignments that require systematic thought and practical programming implementation skills.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Master's degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, software engineering, robotics, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly Bedrock, Lambda, and API Gateway.
  • Proficiency in Python programming, with familiarity in REST APIs and backend service development.
  • Prior involvement or experimentation with LLM-based or agentic AI frameworks, including familiarity with tool usage, prompt engineering, and multi-step logical reasoning.
  • Knowledge of agent communication protocols such as MCP and A2A.
  • Fluency in business English; proficiency in German is beneficial.
