Role Overview

In this Accounting / Finance Specialist position, you will take ownership of everyday bookkeeping tasks and assist with monthly closing activities. The role focuses on keeping financial operations accurate, organized, and scalable as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle incoming and outgoing invoices and manage receivables and payables on your own.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing work.
• Track open items and run reminder and escalation workflows for overdue payments.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate any variances or mismatches.
• Support cash flow planning and financial reporting tasks.
• Work together with external tax consultants and auditors.
• Contribute to improving and digitizing accounting workflows.

Qualifications and Skills

• Finished commercial training or completed a degree with a concentration in finance or accounting.
• Several years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with strong exposure to accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Practical experience with monthly closing processes under German GAAP (HGB).
• Comfortable using accounting tools such as DATEV, Odoo, or similar systems, along with Excel.
• Careful, structured, and dependable working style.
• Good command of both German and English.
• Experience in a fast-growing start-up or scale-up is an advantage.
• Knowledge of ERP platforms, such as Odoo, is a plus.
