Role overview

This position is for a careful and dependable Accounting Assistant / Financial Accountant who can help keep daily accounting work accurate, organized, and on time. The role focuses on bookkeeping support, financial reporting, reconciliations, and following accounting standards as well as internal financial rules.

Core duties

You will help record and prepare financial transactions, maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, and support month-end and year-end closing tasks. The job also includes assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable, checking cash flow, reviewing supporting documents, and keeping financial information accurate across accounting systems.

Other responsibilities include carrying out bank and account reconciliations, supporting the preparation of financial statements and management reports, tracking spending and budgets, and helping with audit and compliance work. You will also assist in identifying mismatches, examining differences, and improving accounting procedures and internal controls.

Collaboration and reporting

The role works closely with internal teams to keep financial operations running smoothly, ensure correct reporting, and resolve accounting issues quickly. In addition, you may help maintain financial records, support tax and regulatory reporting where relevant, and assist with financial analysis that supports business decisions.

Qualifications and profile

This role calls for strong number skills, a high level of accuracy, good organization, and the ability to manage confidential financial data responsibly.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Professional accounting or finance certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA is beneficial.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, bookkeeping, and internal controls.
  • Experience or familiarity with general ledger work, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to accounting software or ERP platforms is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical thinking, numerical ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well-developed organization and time management skills.
  • Clear written and spoken communication skills.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team within a structured environment.
