Role overview
We are looking for a careful and well-organized Accounting Assistant / Financial Accountant to help run day-to-day accounting activities and keep financial records accurate, complete, and compliant. The role supports documentation management, reporting support, account reconciliation, and wider finance operations in accordance with internal procedures and accounting standards.
The selected candidate will partner with the finance team on transaction processing, month-end work, and the upkeep of efficient accounting systems. Strong numerical ability, accuracy, and a methodical approach to recordkeeping and reporting are important for success in this role.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries, accounting records, and supporting financial documents.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processing promptly and correctly.
- Complete bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger review tasks.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and related schedules.
- Check financial information for accuracy and help correct mismatches or errors.
- Keep financial files well organized and ready for audit review.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and basic financial analysis work.
- Support internal and external audits by supplying requested records and documents.
- Work with teams across the business to gather and confirm financial information.
- Follow accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies in daily work.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase speed and accuracy in finance operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and the basics of financial reporting.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP platforms is helpful.
- Strong analytical thinking, numerical ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Careful approach with a high level of accuracy in handling financial data.
- Good organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage several tasks at once and work to deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently as well as within a team.
- Professional conduct, integrity, and discretion with confidential information.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-moving finance environment.
