Job description
About the role
We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to join the Group Finance & Consulting Department (GF&CD). This team provides decision support and advisory input to senior leadership on a wide mix of finance, governance, and commercial topics affecting Saudi Aramco affiliates. The function also supports board-level and committee-level preparation, strengthens governance alignment, and helps senior management make well-informed decisions across reporting, investment, tax, treasury, budgeting, planning, mergers and acquisitions, and related matters.
In this position, you will act as a trusted finance partner by preparing briefing materials for affiliate board and committee meetings, coordinating contributions from stakeholders, performing financial analysis, reviewing impairment matters, supporting purchase price allocation work, and assisting with broader oversight initiatives. You will also guide and mentor colleagues while contributing ad hoc expertise wherever needed.
Key responsibilities
- Offer clear, objective financial and commercial guidance to senior leaders to support sound decisions on affiliate-related matters.
- Prepare concise and informative briefings for upcoming affiliate board meetings and special projects, while helping ensure adherence to group governance requirements.
- Examine affiliate board packs, gather inputs from relevant stakeholders, and build thoughtful commentary and analysis for board members.
- Review and help coordinate impairment assessments covering a wide range of investments prepared by business lines.
- Assess purchase price allocation work for new acquisitions and work with internal and external parties as required.
- Support GF&CD’s role as a central finance hub across the group.
- Engage subject matter experts when needed to address affiliate issues and ongoing matters.
- Assist with the preparation of note disclosures for inclusion in Saudi Aramco’s consolidated financial statements.
- Help establish new affiliates by ensuring processes, policies, and controls are in place and aligned with the Aramco Group Governance Framework.
- Brief internal management on affiliate operations, new initiatives, and project developments.
- Carry out financial due diligence and analysis for affiliates and their future projects.
- Coach, guide, and develop other team members within your areas of expertise.
- Provide additional support on an ad hoc basis as needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, along with a professional qualification such as CPA, CA, or CFA. An MBA or other advanced business degree is an advantage, though not mandatory.
- At least 10 to 15 years of experience in areas such as financial reporting, IFRS, management advisory, decision support, tax, financial analysis, financial modelling, business development, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, internal controls, and cash management or financing.
- Prior experience with a Big 4 firm is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to brief senior stakeholders effectively.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and related policies.
- Experience in management accounting that supports business decision-making.
- Background working with affiliates in a group structure.
- Ability to interpret financial data and turn it into practical insights.
- Capability to present reports and findings to senior management.
- Influence skills to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
- Comfort working in a multicultural environment.
