About the Team
You’ll join Sea’s HQ Finance team, which supports the accounting and finance operations for the company’s three main businesses: Garena, Shopee, and Monee, along with its broad regional footprint. The Finance and Accounting Operations group is responsible for maintaining books and records, managing payables and receivables, and delivering complete financial reporting across operating entities and business units. The role also involves partnering with stakeholders to ensure reporting is accurate, complete, and aligned with local tax and audit obligations.
Role Overview
This contract role is focused on core accounting operations, monthly closing, reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and support for audits and statutory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard financial integrity by following internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable tax rules.
- Investigate and resolve mismatches between system-generated data and finance records.
- Handle month-end close tasks, including receivables and revenue-related activities.
- Draft monthly financial and management reporting packs, and update cashflow forecasts each month.
- Compile accounting schedules and prepare GST filings/returns.
- Assist with audits and support the creation of financial statements.
- Take on other related duties as needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or a relevant accounting qualification such as Chartered Accountant or ACCA.
- Experience from a Big 4 accounting firm will be considered an advantage.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, local tax matters, and audit regulations.
- A collaborative mindset with a genuine willingness to learn and grow.
- Clear analytical thinking and strong reasoning ability.
- Consistently focused on delivering high-quality work.
- Good communication and relationship-building skills across all levels.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel.
