Accountant / Accounts Executive

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team based in Viman Nagar, Pune. This full-time office-based position requires 4 to 8 years of experience managing precise and timely accounting functions for a fast-moving distribution business. The role involves handling reconciliations, statutory compliance, inventory-linked accounting, and management reporting with strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities including receivables, payables, bank transactions, and ledger reviews.
• Perform thorough reconciliations involving bank statements, customer and vendor accounts, GST, and inventory, providing clear closure documentation.
• Manage GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance requirements working closely with external consultants and auditors.
• Lead monthly financial closing processes, provisions, ageing analysis, cash flow tracking, and preparation of management information systems reports.
• Review purchase and landed costs, credit notes, stock adjustments, and evaluate the accounting effects of operational activities.
• Enhance internal controls, maintain proper documentation, and ensure discipline in ERP systems across sales, purchase, warehouse, and finance operations.

Success Criteria

• Timely and accurate monthly financial close.
• Zero avoidable delays, penalties or interest related to statutory compliance.
• Completion of reconciliations and reduction in outstanding ageing balances.
• High-quality, actionable MIS and cash flow reports.
• Audit readiness with continual reduction of recurring control issues.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of B.Com or M.Com degree; CA Inter qualification or equivalent experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Sound knowledge of GST, TDS, accounting controls, and strong proficiency with Excel.
• Previous experience with ERP systems such as Odoo, Tally, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Detail-oriented with an ability to balance accuracy with practical business considerations and deadlines.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with sales, operations teams, vendors, customers, and auditors.

Compensation

The remuneration package will be determined based on the candidate's capability, accountability, and relevant experience, ranging between ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 per month.
