Role overview
This position is with Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, a non-profit shelter and humanitarian care organization in the United Arab Emirates that supports women and children affected by domestic violence, child abuse, and human trafficking. Established in 2007, the foundation provides immediate shelter, protection, and support services in line with international human rights standards.
Core duties
- Handle the foundation’s bank accounts, ledgers, and reporting processes while staying aligned with accounting standards and regulatory rules.
- Build and maintain financial databases for the organization.
- Track reporting timelines closely and make sure all financial submissions are completed on schedule.
- Process vendor invoices and arrange the required payments.
- Carry out accurate reviews and analysis of expenses.
- Investigate and fix mismatches in financial records and supporting documents to preserve accuracy and follow internal procedures.
- Address questions from vendors, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Support auditors by preparing and sharing the documents they need.
- Examine financial data to spot possible budget differences and prepare statistical summaries.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in business administration, finance, or accounting is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, CFM, or CIMA are also expected or highly valued.
