Role overview

The Account Executive, SMB role is focused on growing the small and medium business segment by identifying prospects, developing client relationships, and offering solutions aligned to business needs. The position reports to the Manager of SMB and plays an important part in new business acquisition, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Showcase Deel’s value proposition to prospective clients and existing customers.
  • Develop strong relationships that create opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Assess client needs, qualify requirements, and identify suitable solutions.
  • Partner closely with the SDR team to build and maintain a healthy pipeline.
  • Keep regular contact with internal teams such as Marketing, Customer Success, and Senior Leadership.
  • Maintain CRM records accurately and ensure the system stays up to date.
  • Represent the company at in-person industry events within the HR Tech, FinTech, and payroll ecosystem.

Candidate profile

  • Based in the ASEAN region.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Account Executive working with SMBs at a unicorn startup or technology company selling into ASEAN markets.
  • Hands-on experience selling SaaS products.
  • Strong interpersonal ability and clear communication skills.
  • Able to simplify complex ideas and explain them in an easy-to-understand way.
  • Comfortable working with numbers and focused on delivering excellent service.
  • Adaptable and effective in a fast-moving environment.
