Role Overview
This position focuses on managing large, globally distributed accounts and acting as a key driver in customer buying decisions. The role centers on building trusted long-term partnerships, uncovering expansion opportunities, and aligning Cisco’s portfolio with customer priorities to support sustained growth.
Core Responsibilities
- Own and manage the full sales cycle for moderate to complex opportunities across global accounts.
- Develop new business, grow current relationships, and identify upsell and cross-sell possibilities across customer organizations.
- Act as the account orchestrator by coordinating solutions, internal teams, and competitive deal packaging to support cross-portfolio growth.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Cisco’s complete product and services portfolio, with particular depth in switching, wireless, and routing.
- Work with specialist teams when advanced technical expertise is needed during the sales process.
- Create and expand the sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and convert opportunities into closed business against revenue targets.
- Use data analysis to prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts and sales commitments.
- Stay current on market shifts, customer industries, and competitor activity to strengthen sales strategy.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, including CXO-level stakeholders, across multiple geographies.
- Lead account planning with internal teams and work with sales engineers and others to shape proposals and account strategies.
- Partner with sales operations and finance to remove deal-processing issues before they delay revenue recognition.
- Negotiate standard commercial terms while balancing customer needs with Cisco’s profitability.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of successful sales experience managing large strategic accounts and developing executive-level relationships in a growing business environment.
- Proven ability to work with account managers and systems engineers in a technology sales setting.
- Strong sales performance history and a consistent record of achieving results.
- Capability to negotiate effectively with peers, partners, and customers using a collaborative win-win approach.
- Ability to present end-to-end solutions and explain Cisco’s strategies to senior customer leaders.
- Strong technical and business understanding, along with the ability to connect customer business drivers to Cisco offerings.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred, or an equivalent qualification.
Additional Information
The role is centered on global account coverage, including the ability to pursue major opportunities across multiple locations. Success is measured primarily through bookings growth. The work requires coordination across HQ and regional account teams worldwide.
