Job description

Company Overview

InEight builds construction project controls software used by more than 850 organisations working on demanding projects across construction, engineering, transport infrastructure, mining, water, power and renewables, and oil, gas and chemicals. Its integrated modular platform supports capital construction and other complex work, with more than $1 trillion in projects managed globally.

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, the company operates with a distributed workforce across the United States, Canada, Australia, Sri Lanka and Europe. InEight is ISO 9001:2015 registered and is part of Kiewit Corporation, one of North America’s largest and most respected construction and engineering groups.

The business is known for a fast-moving, innovative culture made up of self-driven teams that play a central part in advancing the future of capital projects worldwide.

Role Summary

This opportunity is for an experienced industry leader in Western Australia with strong connections across the resources, energy and major projects landscape. The role focuses on expanding strategic relationships across mining, oil and gas, infrastructure and government, while supporting organisations to improve project certainty, governance, controls, capital efficiency and delivery outcomes through InEight’s integrated project delivery platform.

The preferred candidate is likely to come from strategic business development, management consulting, project advisory, capital projects or engineering consulting. They should already be recognised in the WA market as someone who can open doors, shape decisions and engage senior stakeholders around complex business issues. Credibility with project delivery and project controls professionals is important, along with the ability to build trusted relationships from operational teams through to executive leadership.

The role also includes identifying new business, expanding existing accounts and strengthening customer retention through long-term partnerships across multiple levels of an organisation. The position offers significant autonomy, cross-functional backing and an uncapped commission structure designed to reward strong performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain trusted-advisor relationships with senior leaders in Western Australia’s mining, oil and gas, infrastructure and government sectors.
  • Use an established professional network to uncover, influence and develop strategic opportunities in target accounts.
  • Engage stakeholders such as Project Information Managers, Engineering Managers, Project Controls Managers, Project Services Leaders, Project Directors, General Managers, Digital Transformation Leaders, Capital Portfolio Leaders and C-suite executives.
  • Lead conversations on project performance, governance, capital delivery, productivity gains, risk management and digital transformation.
  • Represent InEight as a subject-matter voice at industry events, conferences and association activities.
  • Create and manage a sales territory plan focused on major WA project owners and delivery organisations.
  • Source opportunities through existing relationships, industry forums, major project pipelines, sales intelligence tools, market intelligence and referrals.
  • Pursue enterprise-level transformation opportunities rather than one-off, project-specific software transactions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client capital portfolios, delivery models and business priorities.
  • Identify challenges related to controls, cost, schedule, governance, reporting and execution.
  • Run consultative discussions with stakeholders on project maturity and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Position the platform as a way to improve outcomes across an entire organisation or capital portfolio.
  • Create persuasive business cases and value propositions for both operational and executive audiences.
  • Arrange briefings, workshops and engagement programmes across multiple business units.
  • Coordinate complex enterprise sales pursuits involving several internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and close high-value strategic partnerships and enterprise agreements.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to earn trust and act as a credible advisor across complex, layered organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of capital projects, project delivery, project controls and large-scale asset development environments.
  • Advanced consultative selling, advisory and business development capability.
  • Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Strong commercial judgement and experience preparing business cases.
  • Ability to manage long-term strategic pursuits with many stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to spot transformational opportunities and turn them into organisation-wide commercial outcomes.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, strategic advisory, management consulting, enterprise sales or leadership roles serving capital-intensive sectors.
  • An established network of decision-makers across mining, oil and gas, energy, infrastructure and government in Western Australia.
  • A proven track record with resource companies, energy producers, EPC contractors, engineering consultancies or major project delivery organisations.
  • Experience advising organisations on capital projects, project controls, project delivery, operational improvement, business transformation or digital transformation.
  • Success influencing stakeholders from project controls, project services and project delivery through to senior leadership and board-level decision-makers.
  • Experience leading complex enterprise agreements worth more than $1M.
  • Exposure to project delivery technology, construction technology, enterprise software, project controls systems or digital transformation programmes is highly valued.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering or a related field; MBA or other postgraduate study is also regarded favourably.
