About EDU

EDU is a publicly listed higher education group on the ASX focused on tertiary learning in Health and Community Services. The organisation supports meaningful career pathways through quality education delivered across campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide.

Its education brands include Australian Learning Group (ALG), which provides vocational education and training for international students, and Ikon Institute of Australia (Ikon), which offers higher education to domestic and international students.

About the role

EDU is looking for a proactive, meticulous, and student-centric Academic Services Officer to join the Higher Education Academic Services team. This position supports the smooth running of academic operations and helps ensure students receive prompt, professional assistance throughout their studies.

The role is also responsible for helping maintain accurate academic data, contributing to a strong student experience, and supporting compliance with institutional requirements. It is part of the Offshore Team and follows a remote day-shift arrangement.

Key responsibilities

You will be involved in student support, academic administration, operational compliance, and cross-team coordination.

  • Respond to student queries quickly and professionally, and refer more complex matters to the appropriate team when needed.
  • Help implement reasonable adjustments for students in line with Learning Access Plans and internal policy.
  • Assist with the student-at-risk process by supporting identification, tracking, documentation, and follow-up actions.
  • Support the handling of academic misconduct matters, helping ensure cases are managed efficiently and in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Keep communication with students and stakeholders clear, timely, and consistent throughout academic processes.
  • Maintain accurate and current records across student management and administrative systems.
  • Carry out regular internal checks of LMS subject sites to ensure content remains accurate, current, compliant, and aligned with institutional standards.
  • Assist the Academic Services Manager with academic administration tasks and day-to-day operational support.
  • Ensure documentation and record-keeping across academic services activities are complete and accurate.
  • Contribute ideas and support initiatives aimed at improving academic processes and service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with teams across Academic, Student Experience, Student Administration, Quality Assurance, and People & Culture.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to resolve academic administration issues and support student outcomes.
  • Provide administrative help and assist with projects as needed by the wider Academic Services team.
  • Help foster a collaborative, student-focused, and high-performing team culture.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or associate degree in business administration or a related discipline, along with experience in an education setting.
  • Experience in higher education administration or academic services is an advantage.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong organisational ability with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining quality standards.
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural awareness and a genuinely student-centered mindset.
  • A positive attitude and openness to contributing ideas and process improvements.

Benefits

  • Supportive team culture built on respect, collaboration, and shared success.
  • Opportunities for career growth and a workplace where your ideas are valued.
  • A positive and enjoyable work environment.
  • Daily breakfast provided.
  • Training and development support, including a professional development allowance to help you continue growing in your field.

Diversity and inclusion

EDU values a diverse workforce and aims to reflect Australian society in order to better serve its students. Applications are encouraged from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse candidates, people with disabilities, people who are sexually and gender diverse, and individuals of all ages.
