About the Role

At BakerRipley Community Schools, teachers nurture the holistic development of students by delivering high-quality and innovative instruction. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement standards-aligned curricula using the Understanding by Design framework, ensuring lessons are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and actively engage diverse learners.
  • Differentiating instruction to meet the varied learning needs and abilities of all students.
  • Create both formative and summative assessments aligned with course goals and utilize data to refine instructional plans.
  • Manage classroom procedures to maximize instructional time and reflect continuously on teaching and assessment methods to boost student outcomes.
  • Maintain updated unit and lesson plans along with grading records.
  • Deliver curriculum content thoroughly and adapt teaching methods based on frequent understanding checks and student feedback.
  • Promote a positive classroom culture by setting high expectations for behavior and character, reinforcing rules consistently.
  • Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area colleagues to ensure consistency in academic expectations and student mindset development.
  • Engage in professional growth activities, seek feedback for improvement, and meet professional obligations diligently.
  • Communicate proactively with parents or guardians to celebrate successes or address concerns promptly.
  • Create a welcoming and respectful learning environment that supports risk-taking and growth for all students.
  • Respond to communication such as emails and voicemails promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of related professional experience with demonstrated positive outcomes is preferred.
  • Hold a valid Texas Teaching Certificate or be enrolled in an approved Alternative Certification Program with passing TEXes exam results.
  • Assignment eligibility for Pre-K through 8th grade and ESL Supplement endorsement is required.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Required certifications include Generalist 4-8 and ESL EC-12 endorsements.
