Position Overview

The role involves planning and delivering educational instruction to 2nd grade students in accordance with approved curricula at Fern Creek Elementary School during the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will monitor and assess student progress, maintain records, and generate reports while ensuring adherence to board policies and maintaining school property and materials.

Transfer Information

Current Jefferson County Public Schools teachers interested in transferring to this position must submit transfer requests by August 5, 2026. Transfers will be considered only until this date, with priority given to applicants in February 2027 as per the JCTA Teacher Transfer Process outlined in Article 16 of the JCTA contract.

Work Schedule and Salary

The position follows a working calendar of 187 days per year, with 7 hours worked daily. The salary range for this role spans from $48,479.56 to $98,587.95 based on the Board-approved 2026-2027 salary placement schedules (Salary Schedule: III).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize, and implement instructional programs based on approved curriculum guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate student learning outcomes and provide progress feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and generate reports as required.
  • Enforce board policies, regulations, and school rules consistently.
  • Supervise students to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Protect and maintain school-related property and instructional materials.

Qualifications

  • Possess valid Kentucky certification suitable for grade levels K-5 and related curricular assignments.
  • Demonstrate the level of experience and preparation as required by Jefferson County Public Schools Board policies.
