Internship Overview

This internship provides a hands-on experience within the Tax & Business Advisory team, ideal for students finishing their penultimate year of study who wish to gain practical exposure before graduation. Starting mid-November, the program includes a two-day induction, a collaborative cohort environment, a break during the Christmas/New Year period, and ends in early February ahead of students’ final academic year. Interns are paired with buddies and coaches to support learning and career progression, with opportunities to secure graduate roles.

Role Description

The Tax & Business Advisory team delivers practical and impactful tax and accounting services to a diverse client base including multinational corporations, private enterprises, and high net-worth individuals. Interns will collaborate with senior staff on projects involving technical tax advice, financial statement preparation, tax return work, advisory on tax structures, and business operation analyses to improve growth and efficiency.

Daily Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with clients to navigate complex tax, accounting, and business challenges, offering insightful solutions
• Prepare management reports, financial statements, and tax returns under supervision
• Provide support in technical financial reporting, tax, business structures, and operational systems
• Develop proficiency using cloud platforms such as Xero and Taxlab to support client finance teams
• Research and analyze detailed tax matters across various domains including corporate, international, indirect, M&A, transfer pricing, and R&D tax credits

Candidate Profile

• Currently enrolled in any degree program with an enthusiasm for business disciplines; Commerce or Law degrees are advantageous but not mandatory
• Strong analytical capabilities, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numerical data
• Motivated, intellectually curious, and possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• No previous specialized experience required, though part-time roles or internships in accounting, finance, retail, hospitality, or customer service add value
