Role Overview
Our client is searching for highly skilled Technical Writers and Public Essayists to transform advanced, theoretical scientific research into engaging, widely accessible narratives. This remote, full-time role spans 6 to 12 months, starting as soon as possible, with a day rate ranging from $750 to $1,200. The primary focus is to explain the societal impacts, ethical considerations, and governance aspects of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and advanced AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate complex and abstract ideas, including frameworks from AGI to Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI), cognitive science, and consciousness theories, into clear and engaging public essays.
- Produce well-founded writings examining the intersection of artificial intelligence, economic factors, and societal impacts, with special attention to cooperative AI and AI alignment issues.
- Engage in ghostwriting and collaborative writing efforts to create prominent guest essays under a flexible framework.
- Quickly synthesize and articulate evolving trends in technology policy, AI ethics, and technical developments into polished, timely articles.
Expertise & Qualifications Required
- Demonstrated success in publishing with leading media outlets, academic journals, or essays.
- Deep knowledge in at least one relevant domain: technology and AI (ethics, alignment, policy, governance), formal sciences (theoretical CS, mathematics, statistics, physics), or social sciences and policy (behavioral science, science policy, innovation, macroeconomics).
Ideal Candidate Profiles
- Theoretical Translators: Experienced journalists or science writers adept at converting dense mathematical or logical content into captivating stories.
- Academic Essayists: Scholars or PhDs with the skill to connect intricate technical subjects to cultural and economic contexts through rigorous analysis.
