Stockperson / Cartpusher

Position Summary

As a Stockperson/Cartpusher, you contribute to a safe, well-organized, and welcoming shopping environment by managing shopping carts and supporting store operations. Your role involves collecting carts from various locations and returning them to storage areas through approved procedures, as well as engaging positively with customers to promote excellent service and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather shopping carts from cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters, ensuring their proper return to designated areas by following company-approved methods.
• Accurately maintain required logs related to cart collection and storage.
• Promptly assist requests from registers and customer service including helping customers with carrying merchandise and verifying receipts when necessary.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks occasionally, covering areas such as restrooms while adhering to established safety guidelines for chemicals and equipment use.
• Conduct equipment inspections prior to use as per company standards.
• Follow all safety protocols including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout procedures, and bloodborne pathogen guidelines to maintain a secure environment.
• Utilize personal protective gear including steel-toe footwear and a reflective vest, conduct safety sweeps, and follow all policies to uphold workplace safety.
• Be adaptable to varied work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, ensuring consistent high-quality customer service.

Challenges

• Effectively manage high task volumes and a fast-paced work environment, maintaining focus and energy, especially during overnight hours.
• Perform physical activities including standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and product organization with attention to detail to meet store standards.

Compensation and Location

The starting hourly wage for this role begins at $17.75 CAD.

Work Location: 1063 Talbot St Unit 60, St Thomas, Ontario N5P 1G4, Canada.
