The AWS Security Assurance Services team, part of Amazon Web Services, is dedicated to creating scalable security solutions for both internal operations and external customers, driving key business outcomes. This team collaborates closely with major enterprise customers to implement the shared responsibility model effectively during their migration to the cloud. We seek Governance, Risk, and Compliance experts capable of navigating the complexities of moving systems to cloud environments and aiding executives with risk management strategies leveraging scalable computing infrastructures.

The Security Assurance Services team within AWS Support aims to expand its practice by onboarding a skilled Security Assurance Solutions Architect who will educate customers on leveraging our product-led, people-powered services that ensure secure AWS operations and compliance assurance. This role offers the chance to work at the intersection of cloud technology, cybersecurity, and compliance with exposure to multiple business lines and diverse security use cases. Success will be gauged by the candidate's ability to support customers in migrating workloads and regulated data to the cloud while addressing tailored risk and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Amazon teams, partners, and clients to enhance security assurance and compliance initiatives.
• Develop innovative compliance and risk management solutions that facilitate faster migration of sensitive workloads to the cloud.
• Resolve security assurance inquiries and manage compliance through strategic presentations, detailed risk discussions, and hands-on demos that automate compliance within AWS environments.
• Provide customer and partner insights to AWS engineering and business teams to influence technology roadmaps.
• Travel to client sites as necessary to support engagements.

Qualifications

Mandatory:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Information Security, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT security, compliance, risk management, data privacy, or implementation of security controls.
• At least 2 years’ experience advising on cloud architectures satisfying standards such as NIST 800-53 and GDPR.
• Experienced in risk management or internal audit: conducting risk assessments, audits, control design, enterprise control management, and risk prioritization.

Preferred:

• Industry certifications such as CPA, CMA, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GSEC, or Security+.
• Proficiency with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Experience performing security assessments and IS audits across networks, operating systems, application security, and IT process audits.
• Ability to think strategically about technical, product, and business challenges.
