Service Overview

The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service serves communities across Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands, and Banana regions. Our new 32-bed Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service at Rockhampton Hospital features high and low dependency units, therapy rooms, administrative areas, indoor gardens, and safety measures designed for patient and staff wellbeing.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in line with professional standards.
  • Provide direct care to patients with complex needs, ensuring clinical care is evidence-based while respecting patient rights.
  • Lead and coordinate shifts to support seamless inpatient unit operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of practice standards and serve as a mentor and trainer for colleagues and nursing students.

Candidate Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via AHPRA.
