Role Overview

The Project Surveyor will report directly to the Survey Manager and become part of the Subsea Team engaged in the COMP3 Project based in Doha. This role involves comprehensive responsibility for survey planning and execution in offshore and onshore settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the Project Team to assess and implement the most optimal technical survey methods.
• Establish and articulate positional, angular, and dimensional accuracy criteria for engineering deliverables.
• Continuously inform the Engineering team regarding limitations and capabilities related to positioning systems and survey techniques.
• Engage in tender and contract evaluations relevant to survey services and their technical prerequisites.
• Coordinate and execute offshore and onshore survey operations adhering strictly to company standards and project specifications.
• Develop and maintain survey-related documentation, including operational procedures, method statements, and quality assurance protocols.
• Supervise and manage Survey subcontractors, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and project timelines.
• Participate in risk evaluation processes and guarantee the safe and efficient conduct of survey activities.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Accumulate a minimum of 8 years’ experience in survey management, preferably within the offshore, marine, or construction sectors.
• Demonstrate proven expertise in planning and executing offshore survey operations.

Language and Skills

• Proficient in English; knowledge of additional languages is a beneficial asset.
• Strong command over survey instrumentation, geospatial data evaluation, and relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, GIS, and hydrographic survey technology.
• Exhibit robust leadership, effective communication, and project oversight capabilities.
• Experienced in contract administration including supervision of survey subcontractors.
• Well-versed with relevant industry standards and regulatory survey and geospatial data requirements.
• Familiarity with dynamic positioning and offshore navigation technologies.
• Good analytical and problem-solving dexterity.
• Professional certifications or affiliations with recognized surveying organizations (e.g., RICS, NSPS, FIG) are advantageous.
