Job Overview
This position focuses on cost management, contract administration, and comprehensive documentation support for elevator installation projects. The incumbent will ensure projects are executed within allocated budgets, adhere to contractual obligations, and maintain thorough project records and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Create cost estimations and budgets specifically for elevator supply and installation projects.
- Develop and oversee Bills of Quantities (BOQ) management.
- Participate in the entire tendering process from preparation through subcontractor or supplier award.
- Compile and submit monthly progress claims to clients accurately.
- Scrutinize subcontractor claims and authorize respective payments.
- Administer Variation Orders (VOs) accordingly.
- Supervise project expenses and provide regular cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
- Prepare and finalize project final accounts.
- Ensure strict adherence to contract terms, specifications, and relevant regulations.
- Assist in extension of time (EOT) and associated cost claims.
- Collaborate with project teams on risk detection and mitigation strategies.
- Handle subcontractor performance issues, dispute resolution, and negotiation efforts.
- Oversee contract closure and project finalization;
- Maintain accurate document control systems including contracts, drawings, submissions, and correspondence.
- Document meeting minutes and monitor follow-up actions.
- Keep organized filing systems and up-to-date project records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in construction projects, preferably in lift or elevator sectors.
- In-depth expertise in cost control and contract administration.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction processes.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and contract documentation/reporting tools.
- Effective communication, coordination, and negotiation abilities.
- Capable of managing multiple responsibilities related to cost, contracts, and administration concurrently.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Experience specifically related to lift manufacturers or vertical transportation projects.
- Familiarity with contracts such as FIDIC, SIA, or PSSCOC within the Singapore context.
- Understanding of local authority requirements including BCA, MOM, SCDF, and lift safety regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to documentation and cost control details.
