Position Overview
The Material Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring production stays on track through effective materials management processes. This role involves overseeing inventory accuracy and coordinating all material-related activities within a specific production zone.
Responsibilities
- Manage all materials-related functions within an assigned production area on the floor.
- Maintain precise inventory records and manage reject materials within your area.
- Keep work center data complete, accurate, and current at all times.
- Effectively communicate job schedules to floor personnel using dispatch and Kanban systems.
- Monitor production operations to protect the integrity of job orders and inventory files.
- Conduct daily cycle counts and cell audits to verify inventory accuracy and share findings through reports.
- Provide support by monitoring, scheduling, and expediting needed parts to assist production.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or an equivalent certification is required; an Associate's degree in a related field is advantageous.
- Preferably possess 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing or inventory management roles.
- Capable of adapting to rapid changes and thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced work setting.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, able to convey instructions clearly, resolve disputes, identify core problems, and document work instructions effectively.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, along with solid keyboard skills.
