Role overview

This position is for a Land Surveyor to support construction and refurbishment projects in Abu Dhabi through accurate on-site surveying. The role centers on topographic and building surveys, establishing setting-out points, and checking site coordinates and levels with total stations and other survey tools. The surveyor will also prepare, revise, and maintain drawings, logs, and reports while ensuring all work follows project requirements and local rules.

Key duties

The selected candidate will work closely with project engineers, site managers, and subcontractors to address survey-related discrepancies and provide precise site data. Regular site checks, care of surveying equipment, and support for quality control activities and handover documentation are also part of the job.

Requirements

Applicants should have strong practical knowledge of land surveying methods, including field measurements and data collection. A minimum of 3 years of relevant land surveying experience is required. Experience in topographic surveying and building surveying for construction and refurbishment projects is essential. Candidates should be proficient with total stations and related instruments or software used for setting out and processing survey information. A diploma or degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a similar discipline is preferred.

Good familiarity with construction drawings, site plans, and applicable local standards is needed, along with a strong eye for detail, numerical accuracy, and problem-solving ability in a site environment. Effective communication and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional project teams are important. Experience on large-scale building or infrastructure projects in the UAE or GCC will be considered an advantage.

Additional requirements

Candidates must currently be based in the UAE, hold a valid driving license, and be able to attend a personal interview in Abu Dhabi when scheduled.
