Position Overview
The Industrial Security Coordinator acts as the key point of contact between ACWA, its Affiliate Companies, and the Supreme Authority for Industrial Security (SAIS). This role focuses on ensuring compliance with industrial security regulations, managing employee security verification and clearances, and coordinating with regulatory bodies within Saudi Arabia. The Coordinator supports the full implementation of SAIS guidelines and facilitates timely communication and reporting between ACWA and government authorities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the official liaison with SAIS regarding all industrial security matters.
- Organize communications, meetings, inspections, audits, and other engagements with SAIS and relevant government agencies.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of reports, notifications, and regulatory documents to SAIS.
- Maintain strong working relationships with SAIS personnel and government authorities.
- Oversee security verification, background checks, and clearance procedures for employees and contractors in compliance with SAIS requirements.
- Verify and submit security background check documents within designated timelines.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, project teams, contractors, and SAIS to obtain necessary security approvals.
- Track security verification requests and ensure all pending cases are resolved promptly.
- Maintain confidential records of employee security verifications and decisions in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Participate in recruitment, assessment, and selection of Industrial Security staff in coordination with People & Culture and project companies to meet SAIS and company criteria.
- Review and approve Industrial Security candidate nominations before submission to SAIS, offering recommendations based on qualifications and compliance.
- Support timely completion of SAIS approvals for selected Industrial Security personnel.
- Assist with SAIS audits, inspections, assessments, and facilitate the sharing of required information and documentation during regulatory reviews.
- Monitor audit findings and oversee corrective action implementation to ensure compliance.
- Maintain secure databases for security verification, approvals, and regulatory submissions.
- Generate management reports, dashboards, and compliance performance metrics regarding industrial security and employee clearances.
- Provide training and guidance to stakeholders about SAIS requirements and compliance obligations.
Collaboration & External Relations
- Work closely with Corporate Management, plant teams, and various ACWA departments to align and execute industrial security strategies and procedures.
- Coordinate with external government bodies including SAIS, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Energy, and National Center for Environmental Compliance to maintain professional relations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Security, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), or an engineering-related field.
- Saudi National, preferably married, and female candidates are preferred.
- Possession of SAIS approval is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Industrial Security Management or HSE in sectors such as critical infrastructure, power generation, water desalination, energy, oil & gas, or petrochemicals.
Skills and Competencies
- Fluent communication skills in Arabic and English, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using SAIS online platforms for managing submissions, compliance tracking, and reporting.
- Strong coordination and interpersonal abilities to liaise with internal teams, contractors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to build credibility and maintain positive relationships across organizational levels and with government authorities.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills to resolve conflicts and enforce compliance within a multicultural environment.
- Highest ethical standards for handling sensitive data and maintaining confidentiality.
- Professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all stakeholder interactions.
- Strict confidentiality concerning employee data and regulatory matters.
