About Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club

The destination integrates residential living with leisure and hospitality, highlighted by the contemporary Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club and its Clubhouse Restaurant which provides relaxed, guest-centered dining welcoming golfers, members, residents, and event attendees.
Role Overview
We seek a personable, polished, and well-organized Hostess responsible for greeting guests as they arrive at the Clubhouse Restaurant. The successful candidate will confidently interact with guests face-to-face and over the phone, efficiently manage reservations and seating, and ensure a smooth guest flow during service times. Key personal traits include attentiveness, calmness, approachability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to leave a positive first and lasting impression.
Key Duties
- Warmly receive and professionally welcome guests at arrival.
- Handle table bookings made in person, via phone, or through the reservation system.
- Keep reservation records accurate and up to date, noting guest preferences and special requests.
- Organize seating plans to facilitate efficient guest movement and service.
- Manage waitlists during peak times; update guests on expected wait durations.
- Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus with attentiveness and professionalism.
- Inform service staff of guest arrivals, preferences, and notable occasions.
- Stay aware of table availability and service status to anticipate guest departures.
- Collaborate closely with the F&B Supervisor and service team to manage reservations, walk-ins, and other operational needs.
- Promptly answer telephone calls, providing professional responses to queries.
- Provide accurate information on menus, operating hours, promotions, events, and Clubhouse amenities.
- Calmly address guest feedback and concerns; resolve straightforward issues or escalate appropriately.
- Assist in guest recognition by logging relevant preferences and visit histories.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards at the hostess station and entrance area.
- Ensure menus and other guest materials are current, clean, and well-presented.
- Help prepare restaurant materials like menu prints, buffet labels, and place cards when necessary.
- Support service staff during busy periods by assisting with seating and clearing tasks as needed.
- Follow procedural guidelines for opening, closing, and shift handovers at the hostess desk.
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, health, and emergency protocols.
- Uphold a professional image with high grooming standards.
- Attend department meetings, briefings, and training sessions.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications & Experience
- 1 to 2 years experience in hostessing, reception, guest relations, or similar customer-facing roles.
- Background in restaurants, clubhouses, hotels, or the hospitality sector preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong telephone etiquette and professionalism.
- Well-developed organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Competency in managing reservations, waiting lists, and seating arrangements.
- Experience with reservation software, point-of-sale systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Capacity to remain composed and professional during peak service.
- Proficient guest service and complaint resolution skills.
- Professional appearance coupled with a confident presence.
- Good command of spoken and written English; additional language skills considered advantageous.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
