Job description
Role Overview
We seek a seasoned Head of Sales to oversee and propel the sales operations of a reputed Zimbabwean company. The position entails crafting and implementing sales approaches to broaden market reach, reinforce distribution networks, and foster enduring revenue and volume enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee sales activities nationwide, spanning both Modern Trade and Traditional Trade sectors.
- Formulate and implement strategies for sales, distribution, and Route-to-Market (RTM) processes.
- Drive market growth across urban and rural areas.
- Establish and fortify relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
- Create revenue, volume, and market penetration growth plans.
- Lead, guide, and manage sizeable sales teams operating across various territories.
- Track sales metrics, analyze market trends, assess competitor behaviors, and evaluate channel performance.
- Ensure products are optimally available and distribution coverage is comprehensive.
- Collaborate closely with departments including Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations.
- Discover new business opportunities and design corresponding Go-To-Market strategies.
- Champion profitable growth while enhancing operational efficiencies.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 12 to 15+ years in Sales or Business Development, ideally within FMCG, Consumer Goods, or allied industries.
- Demonstrates strong experience managing both Modern and Traditional Trade channels.
- Proven track record in heading nationwide or regional sales teams.
- Deep understanding of distribution networks, RTM, GTM, and strategies for market penetration.
- Experienced in overseeing large, multi-tiered sales teams.
- Exhibits robust commercial acumen, analytical abilities, and strategic mindset.
- Experience with African markets, particularly Zimbabwe or DRC, is a notable plus.
- Excellent skills in communication and managing relationships with stakeholders.
