About Our School
Located in Victoria Point, St Rita’s Primary School serves around 435 students. Role Summary
The Groundskeeper role focuses on enhancing the school’s external environment through maintaining gardens, grounds, playing fields, and facilities. This full-time position is based at St Rita's Primary School, commencing 21 September 2026, working 38 hours weekly with a salary of $36.98 per hour plus superannuation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee both scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks for school buildings, furniture, and equipment using appropriate tools and machinery.
- Prepare and execute minor construction, installation, and repair jobs such as painting, carpentry, window cleaning, drain clearing, and tree trimming.
- Provide general grounds upkeep including garden beds, lawns, turf, sports ovals, and greens, alongside support for irrigation systems installation and repairs.
- Manage maintenance requests via the school's online system by prioritizing, completing, and documenting work.
- Support facilities and grounds maintenance for various school events including assemblies, exams, masses, sports carnivals, and information sessions.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced in planned and reactive maintenance of buildings, furniture, and equipment with proficiency operating relevant machinery and tools.
- Skilled in minor building repairs and facility preparation.
- Competent in grounds maintenance covering gardens, turf, and irrigation system assistance.
- Proficient in using online systems to manage maintenance requests effectively.
- Able to support setup and maintenance tasks for school events and functions.
- Holds Certificate III qualification or an apprenticeship relevant to maintenance or groundskeeping.
- Candidates do not need to be Catholic to apply.

- Possession of a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card is required before starting.
