Job description
Job Summary
This full-time position involves performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks within school facilities and grounds to ensure a safe and clean environment. The role includes upkeep of equipment needed for custodial duties and assisting students, faculty, and visitors as needed.
Terms of Employment
This is a year-round, 12-month role eligible for comprehensive benefits. Scheduled hours are from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a shift differential pay of $0.25 per hour. Work hours may be adjusted due to school activities, summer maintenance, or adverse weather conditions. Overtime may occasionally be necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning tasks throughout school buildings and outdoor areas.
- Maintain and operate custodial equipment such as floor machines and vacuums to keep facilities in good condition.
- Provide custodial support and assistance to students, staff members, and visitors as required.
- Perform routine general maintenance when necessary.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and custodial tasks is preferred.
- Proven ability to operate various hand tools and custodial machinery is desirable.
- Physically capable of frequently lifting, pushing, or pulling weights up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds; a 50-pound lifting test is mandatory.
- Effective communication skills to interact well with students, staff, and the public.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with team members.
