Role overview

Ritchie Bros. is looking for an Equipment Inspector to join its Detailed Equipment Information (DEI) team in Midland, Western Australia. The role focuses on producing accurate, complete equipment records through detailed visual checks and basic functional testing of heavy machinery.

What you will do

  • Carry out careful visual inspections of equipment, including wear areas, damage, hour-meter readings, and similar condition checks.
  • Test basic functions to confirm equipment operates as expected.
  • Collect and confirm inventory details such as contract documents, added equipment, and serial numbers.
  • Record equipment parts, attachments, accessories, and other asset information.
  • Check equipment descriptions against the company’s Equipment Standards Manual.
  • Make sure all equipment data and related records are complete and accurate.
  • Verify any items that have warranty-related requirements.
  • Take photographs and prepare visual records for the equipment.
  • Support the DEI team whenever help is needed.
  • Help the sales team with field appraisals and write-ups during quieter periods.

What we are looking for
