Position Overview
Acwa is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician for its NEOM plant operations. The role involves performing maintenance activities to ensure electrical equipment runs safely and efficiently.
Key Duties
- Conduct preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance following established procedures and safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot, inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical machinery used in power and industrial settings.
- Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and protection schematics accurately.
- Install, service, adjust, and repair both static and rotating electrical equipment.
- Coordinate equipment shutdowns and maintenance with supervisors and operational teams.
- Report on spare parts and materials required for maintenance activities.
- Keep detailed maintenance records and track equipment history.
- Prepare work areas and equipment ahead of maintenance tasks.
- Support plant shutdowns, annual outages, and comprehensive overhauls.
- Maintain cleanliness and organizational standards in the work environment following 5S principles.
- Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality regulations.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by supervisors as needed.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or minimum four years of experienced skilled electrical labor in NOMAC plants; bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred.
- At least four years of experience as an Electrical Technician or equivalent role.
- Experience in industries such as conventional power plants, combined cycle, cogeneration, water desalination (RO, MSF, MED), or renewable energy (solar or wind) is advantageous.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Proficient in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematic diagrams and protection plans.
- Solid grasp of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
- Basic understanding of power and water plant operations.
- Aware of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems.
- Capable of working independently and cooperatively within a team environment.
- Readiness to perform work in confined spaces, at heights, and near industrial machinery and chemicals.
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout protocols, electrical safety, confined space entry procedures, personal protective equipment, fire protection, and safe work practices.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Knowledge in waste management, environmental compliance, firefighting equipment use, and first aid.
Work Environment
- Plant-based position located in NEOM.
- Candidate must be willing to work in a remote setting.
- Work may involve outdoor activities, high elevations, confined spaces, and proximity to industrial equipment, all under stringent safety standards.
