Position Overview
The University is seeking a dedicated Development Officer to join its Office of Advancement on a full-time, fixed-term basis for two years. This role is crucial in managing relationships with alumni, individuals, sponsors, corporations, and foundation trusts to support the university's fundraising and development strategies.
Daily Responsibilities
The role involves engaging with stakeholders through phone communications, soliciting donations, preparing fundraising proposals and case materials, coordinating fundraising appeals and events, as well as identifying new funding opportunities.
Candidate Profile
- Relevant university degree or equivalent experience
- Proven achievements in fundraising, philanthropy, or sponsorship
- Experience crafting correspondence and documents for prospective donors
- Ability to develop and support prospect cultivation and stewardship plans
- Competence in managing databases, conducting research, and uncovering new opportunities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent skills in writing, transcription, editing, and proofreading
- Adherence to and understanding of the Fundraising Institute Australia's (FIA) Code
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within higher education fundraising environments
- Familiarity with Raisers Edge or similar CRM systems
- Membership in the Fundraising Institute Australia
Remuneration and Benefits
The salary starts at AUD 85,707.07 plus 12% superannuation per annum.
