Design Manager

Overview

As a Design Manager reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will oversee the technical management aspects of building projects. This role requires a systematic approach, the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, and extensive experience collaborating with design teams and external stakeholders. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Manage the technical facets of building projects ensuring compliance with deadlines and quality standards.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design and project teams alongside third parties.
• Address and resolve design and project-related challenges effectively.
• Maintain awareness and compliance with health and safety regulations, project timelines, quality expectations, and financial targets.

Requirements

• Degree-level qualification in engineering, construction management, or a relevant field.
• Multiple years of relevant experience in a contracting environment.
• Preferred postgraduate qualifications and/or membership in a professional institute such as Engineers Ireland.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and dedication to meeting deadlines.
