Role Summary
The Construction Estimator will prepare detailed quantity take-offs, pricing estimates, and bid submissions for multifamily and commercial exterior projects. This is a full-time remote role, with routine company and project check-ins held virtually and occasional in-person attendance when needed.
Key Responsibilities
The position involves reviewing drawings and tender documents, building accurate cost estimates, coordinating pricing inputs, and helping shape proposal submissions. The estimator will also keep estimate records organized, spot missing scope items and risks, and contribute value-engineering ideas while working closely with project managers and leadership during pre-construction.
Experience and Qualifications
Candidates should bring at least 3 years of construction estimating experience, ideally with exterior finishing exposure. The role calls for hands-on quantity take-off experience, familiarity with commercial and/or multifamily projects, strong reading and interpretation skills for construction drawings, and working knowledge of estimating tools such as Bluebeam, JobTread, On-Screen Takeoff, or comparable software. Strong Excel ability, high attention to detail, excellent organization, and solid written and verbal communication are also required. The job requires someone who can handle deadlines independently in a remote environment.
Compensation and Work Structure
The annual salary is CAD 70,000 to CAD 90,000, depending on experience. The role is structured as full-time remote/hybrid work, with regular virtual meetings and occasional in-person meetings. The company also notes that the position offers room to grow as the business expands.
