Job Overview
The Commercial & Pricing Strategy Analyst will oversee marketing and pricing functions within the Asia region, focusing on product management, minimum pricing strategies, marketing plan development, and the coordination of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). This role acts as a key liaison between Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, and R&D teams to optimize asset utilization, enhance portfolio performance, and maximize the profitability of Birla Carbon's operations across multiple plants.
Key Challenges
- Integrating global pricing frameworks with distinct regional market conditions across varied Asian countries.
- Coordinating cross-functional activities among multiple plants located in India, Thailand, Korea, and China.
- Balancing commercial objectives with operational limits and production capacity.
- Dealing with fluctuations in feedstock prices that affect product pricing decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist product management processes including analyzing pricing and margins, developing pricing and volume scenarios, and optimizing plant portfolio.
- Participate actively in the S&OP process to ensure alignment between demand and supply across Asian plants.
- Develop, maintain, and track marketing plans in accordance with Birla Carbon’s global marketing strategies, ensuring effective implementation.
- Establish and update minimum product pricing specific to regional assets, govern pricing practices, and support annual Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes with sales leadership.
- Drive team development by mentoring marketing managers, promoting analytical thinking and commercial insight, and identifying training needs.
- Generate periodic business reports and dashboards to detect anomalies, support pricing and margin analysis, and facilitate data-driven decision making.
- Lead coordination of S&OP activities, assist asset management with portfolio analysis, and optimize asset utilization through collaboration with Supply Chain, Operations, and Sales teams.
- Support new product development and capital project initiatives by providing comprehensive business cases.
