Role Overview
As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for acquiring new clients and expanding business within your designated territory. You will engage both with inbound marketing-generated leads and proactively target select accounts through a value-driven sales approach, covering the entire sales process from opportunity creation to deal closure. Your focus will include use cases involving customer data and marketing activation. This role requires a deep understanding of CockroachDB’s features, competitive strengths, and overall business impact, combined with a passion for building enduring client relationships centered on customer needs. Candidates must reside in Singapore to qualify for this remote position.
Responsibilities
- Win new business and grow existing accounts by prospecting, qualifying, and closing sales opportunities, consistently exceeding sales targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Sales Development, Legal, Engineering, Security, Marketing, and Product—to navigate complex sales cycles effectively.
- Maintain and expand detailed relationship maps within your territory, covering both current and potential contacts.
- Deliver persuasive presentations of CockroachDB’s products and vision to diverse audiences ranging from C-level executives to individual contributors.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and maintain clear visibility on revenue and pipeline status by actively managing opportunities.
First Six Months Expectations
- Within 30 days, thoroughly understand and confidently pitch CockroachDB’s products, and start engaging with assigned accounts.
- By three months, develop a comprehensive account strategy and build relationships with key leaders, completing at least 15 customer meetings.
- At six months, generate a sales pipeline valued at three times your quota and have at least three proof-of-concept projects underway.
Qualifications
- 6-8+ years of successful enterprise software sales experience, particularly in the database sector or related fields.
- Proven ability to manage long and complex sales cycles involving C-Level executives at Fortune 500 companies, especially within fintech.
- Expertise in consultative, value-based selling for cloud, on-premise, and hybrid deployments.
- Skilled at identifying customer requirements and building trusted relationships across multiple organizational levels.
- Consistent track record of exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with marketing and sales development teams.
- Excellent management of time and resources.
- Experience incorporating AI tools regularly into workflow for enhanced research, drafting, analysis, and planning.
- Fluent spoken Mandarin.
- Desirable experience partnering with major public cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, and understanding both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with the Singapore and Southeast Asia technology startup ecosystem is a plus.
