Role Overview
We are seeking a Work, Health & Safety Coordinator who aligns with our values and can foster a positive and inclusive workplace. This role is integral in ensuring a safe work environment and enhancing employee wellbeing through effective WHS policy implementation and wellbeing programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer expertise to support the deployment of WHS systems, frameworks, and processes.
- Manage dissemination of communications and documents related to workplace health, safety, and wellbeing.
- Facilitate WHS training sessions and appointments throughout the organisation.
- Complete all WHS, Return to Work, and wellbeing related duties.
- Champion a culture prioritising safety and compliance with WHS legislation.
- Handle WHS incident management and reporting procedures.
- Provide assistance and guidance to managers on everyday HR issues including policy interpretation, processes, and employee relations.
Position Details
The role is negotiable between 0.6 to 0.8 full-time equivalent and is based at the WSSSA Head Office in Mile End.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum two years of experience in a WH&S Coordinator position.
- Relevant qualification in WHS or Human Resources or equivalent experience.
- Accredited Return to Work Coordinator.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary health, safety, and wellbeing standards, with the ability to interpret legislation and codes of practice such as the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- Exceptional initiative, attention to detail, and capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust within the workforce.
- Self-driven towards ongoing professional growth and staying current on WHS trends and regulations.
- Current driver's license, with eligibility for or possession of DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary aligned with Level 4 Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Award, ranging $55,371 to $73,829 pro-rated, with a full-time equivalent of $92,286.
