About Lokal and Role Context
Lokal began in 2018 as a WhatsApp group aimed at addressing the internet usage gap in tier-2 and tier-3 towns of India by providing local language content. Over time, Lokal evolved into multiple focused apps encompassing various categories like education, matrimonial matchmaking, agriculture consulting, local job listings, social updates, emotional support, astrology, and advisory services — all targeting deeper engagement for Bharat's diverse linguistic communities. Backed by prominent investors, Lokal emphasizes fast-paced, impactful product development for regional users.
The current opening is for the sister app Dostt, an audio and video communication platform available in multiple Indian languages. The company is seeking a diligent and proactive Trust & Safety Associate responsible for monitoring the integrity and quality of audio/video interactions, ensuring policy compliance, and maintaining a safe user environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to potential and current hosts to inform them about the app's products and services.
- Follow up on marketing-generated leads to convert prospects effectively.
- Keep meticulous records of all host interactions and transactions.
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets for calls and conversions.
- Offer precise and timely information to hosts about offerings and promotions.
- Remain informed about new products, services, and ongoing promotional campaigns.
- Train and onboard new hosts adhering to the app's guidelines.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in telecalling or related roles.
- Proficient communication skills in Marathi and English—reading, writing, and speaking.
- Capability to handle rejection gracefully and maintain patience.
- Basic computer literacy including CRM and Excel usage.
- Strong listening, negotiation, and teamwork skills coupled with a positive attitude.
Compensation and Location
Position is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India with a monthly remuneration range from INR 14,500 to INR 22,000.
