Overview
The American Hospital Dubai is seeking a Supply Chain Director to oversee all facets of its supply chain management, including routine operations and strategic projects tied to compliance, policy formulation, contract oversight, and application management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the supply chain department to ensure maximum efficiency and staff productivity.
- Provide expert procurement guidance to internal clients, including senior leadership.
- Oversee interactions between vendors and IT systems involved in supply chain.
- Develop and mentor team members to foster a cohesive and well-functioning department.
- Assume full financial accountability for the procurement budget.
- Administer contracts, including preparation, compliance, and management of modifications.
- Supervise inventory control and logistics to maintain uninterrupted supply flow.
- Formulate, update, and communicate procurement and sourcing policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with department heads and executives on selection or recommendations for medical and non-medical purchases.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to deliver excellent customer service according to procurement policies.
- Evaluate performance metrics of supply chain staff regularly.
- Lead supply chain application management including maintenance, development, and training.
- Oversee financial analysis, compliance, and key performance indicators related to supply chain operations.
- Implement industry best practices through benchmarking with internal and external standards.
- Lead system automation projects impacting supply chain and contract management.
- Review and enhance existing procurement governance policies and develop new ones as necessary.
- Supervise periodic supply chain audits, investigate non-compliance issues, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain a Quality Management System aligned with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards for hospital supply chain activities.
- Monitor contracts post-execution, proactively manage upcoming negotiations, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders on supplier evaluation criteria, performance assessment, and development standards.
- Establish and enforce a supplier code of ethics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field required.
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
Professional Experience
- At least 12 years of experience in hospital supply chain operations.
- Minimum 5 years in senior management roles within a healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain processes.
- Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
