Role Overview

This position involves preparing and baking a variety of products while maintaining adherence to Whole Foods Market's quality standards. The role requires providing courteous and efficient service to customers and fellow team members, complying with store procedures, and supporting the company's core values and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients following company recipes accurately.
• Shape, cut, mold, and bake dough into finished baked goods.
• Monitor baking times and adjust proof box heat and humidity settings appropriately.
• Verify products meet established quality benchmarks.
• Complete temperature, sanitation, and sweeping logs diligently.
• Arrive punctual and prepared for shifts, dressed according to standards, and participate in all required meetings and training sessions.
• Deliver outstanding customer service, promptly addressing customer inquiries and employing suggestive selling techniques.
• Optimize sales by properly prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising items.
• Adhere to all applicable health, safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements, including Weights and Measures protocols.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and ensure equipment upkeep per company standards.
• Perform assigned opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks, confirming signage and pricing accuracy.
• Report any safety hazards or breaches immediately to management.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Experience

Applicants should have between six and twelve months of retail experience.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Expect to stand or walk for six to eight hours during an eight-hour shift.
• Use of hands involving grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling is necessary.
• Perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures including freezing, refrigeration, and heat.
• Work in both wet and dry environments.
• Flexible scheduling is required, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Use of tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and possibly ladders.

The wage range for this position is $18.50 to $25.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
