About The Project

The Waikare Gorge Realignment involves relocating 4 kilometers of State Highway 2 and constructing a new bridge over the Waikare Gorge near Pūtōrino, north of Napier. This development aims to enhance highway safety and durability, improve freight and community access, and reduce the need for emergency repairs in the future.

Role Overview

We seek a seasoned Senior Project Engineer to join our earthworks team at the site office in Waikare. This position requires significant experience in large-scale civil construction projects, particularly earthworks.

The successful candidate will coordinate with project management, site personnel, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the efficient and timely completion of assigned work segments while maintaining cost-effectiveness. This role offers a promising career advancement opportunity by stepping into a more prominent project leadership capacity.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of seven years’ experience as a Senior Project Engineer or an equivalent role in civil engineering.
• Demonstrated proficiency in project planning, execution, and delivery phases.
• Experience collaborating effectively with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety standards, quality assurance, cost management, and schedule control.
• Leadership skills to guide and mentor junior engineers within project teams.
• Possession of a Bachelor of Engineering degree and current CPEng registration.
