Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Engineer specializing in Safety to join Reliance Carbon Fiber's Operations team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in translating and implementing Reliance Industries Limited's (RIL) and statutory safety and compliance regulations into actionable internal procedures. This position is based in Surat, Gujarat.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and own the Work Permit and Incident Investigation systems, including the reporting framework.
- Develop systems and tools to facilitate safety and compliance training for personnel.
- Plan and oversee the execution of safety audits while ensuring timely reporting within Reliance and to statutory bodies.
- Monitor and report safety and compliance metrics such as audits and KPIs across the site.
- Maintain and update the emergency response plans and conduct regular emergency drills.
- Keep the Process Safety Data Sheets for raw materials, auxiliary chemicals, and products current and accurate.
- Assess and ensure the availability and condition of safety equipment, including PPE and tools.
- Ensure that Job Safety Analysis is performed in accordance with safety compliance standards at all workstation areas.
- Evaluate and implement ergonomic measures to enhance workplace safety and comfort.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Safety Engineering from a recognized university.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with an industrial diploma in Health, Safety, Environment, and Fire (HSEF) management with proven expertise in this field.
- Between 7 to 11 years of relevant experience, ideally 8 to 10 years managing site HSEF in industries like manmade fiber manufacturing.
- Knowledge and professional network within acrylic fiber, carbon fiber, and composites sectors.
- Experience guiding safety and compliance in chemical or manmade fiber production sites, including management of hazardous processes.
