Sea Logistics Reefer Operational Care Specialist - Cooltainer

Overview

Join Kuehne+Nagel’s Freight Forwarding team based in Christchurch as a Sea Logistics Reefer Operational Care Specialist on a 12-month fixed term contract, focused on supporting their Cooltainer operations. In this role, you will engage with various departments and customers to ensure smooth import and export shipment processes within international sea logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee export and import activities across multiple trade routes, ensuring seamless operational support.
• Provide outstanding customer service and operational assistance through direct engagement, facilitating onboarding and meeting coordination both face-to-face and virtually.
• Coordinate booking arrangements directly with transport firms and communicate effectively with carriers and suppliers.
• Accurately enter shipment information such as carrier, vessel, and product details into internal transport management systems.
• Ensure all necessary documentation complies with company policies, client specifications, and regulatory standards within required timeframes.
• Handle invoicing at delivery stages before loading or unloading at port facilities.
• Maintain communication with shipping lines, New Zealand customs authorities, and international agents to ensure smooth logistical flows.
• Monitor carrier and vendor performance, maintaining data accuracy to support timely customer reporting.
• Manage shipment costs and revenues with an emphasis on cost control and profit enhancement.
• Assist in claim resolution and dispute management.
• Develop, review, and improve customer reporting materials.
• Promote customer engagement, satisfaction, and relationship building with operational stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

• Prior experience and sound knowledge of international freight and shipping procedures.
• Ability to efficiently manage priorities and workload pressures while maintaining accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities, including strong listening skills.
• Excellent organizational capabilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work deliverables.
