Job Overview

As a Patient Scheduler II, you will be responsible for managing patient scheduling and pre-registration activities in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. This role involves handling appointment bookings, procedures, tests, and other service scheduling across multiple service lines within Essentia Health. You will interact with patients via phone for appointment coordination, follow-ups, and referral work queues, while maintaining accurate data entry in electronic health records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, register, and schedule patients including obtaining necessary signatures and documents.
  • Support various Population Management, Chronic Disease Management, and ACO initiatives by managing patient registries and conducting outbound calls.
  • Perform full pre-registration for patients by verifying guarantor information and insurance eligibility.
  • Coordinate scheduling for ancillary services, procedures, and labs.
  • Manage incoming calls and referral queues; handle ticket scheduling efficiently.
  • Accurately document patient information directly into the electronic health record during interactions.
  • Collaborate with clinical and support teams to optimize patient care and customer service.
  • Perform additional clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of clinical healthcare experience, or
  • Minimum of 1 year as a Patient Scheduler I, or
  • 1 year experience working in a contact or call center environment.
