Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to provide broad HR support with an emphasis on leave management, benefits coordination, employee relations, and HR operational duties. This role acts as a reliable resource for employees and management to ensure adherence to policies, operational efficiency, and fostering an excellent employee experience throughout all stages of employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as the primary contact person for all Leave of Absence (LOA) related issues for employees and supervisors.
  • Collaborate closely with Lincoln Financial Group to manage FMLA, state-mandated leaves, parental, military, and corporate leave programs.
  • Oversee the entire leave management cycle including eligibility evaluation, documentation collection, communication, status tracking, coordinating return-to-work, and resolving cases.
  • Provide education to employees and managers on leave policies, procedural compliance, and requirements.
  • Support benefits management tasks such as open enrollment and helping employees understand their benefits.
  • Handle initial employee relations inquiries by collecting facts, recording concerns, and escalating issues properly.
  • Advise on HR policies and procedures confidentially and professionally and address employee questions.
  • Examine employee feedback and interactions to spot trends and propose improvements in processes.
  • Assist throughout the employee lifecycle including onboarding, terminations, internal transfers, and job changes.
  • Support performance management activities including goal development, performance evaluations, and coaching supervisors.
  • Maintain precise employee records and aid in HR reporting, compliance audits, and initiatives.
  • Help update policies, revise the employee handbook, and manage internal HR communications.
  • Contribute to employee engagement programs, training activities, compliance projects, and HR information system maintenance.
  • Provide backup assistance to other members of the HR team as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Five to seven years of advancing experience as an HR Generalist.
  • Previous HR experience within a retail environment is mandatory.
  • Deep understanding of FMLA, applicable state leave laws, and HR compliance standards.
  • Experience working with third-party leave administrators, with a strong preference for familiarity with Lincoln Financial Group.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
  • Proficiency in UKG HRIS and Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or an equivalent credential.
  • Experience supporting employees in multiple U.S. states.
  • Knowledge of payroll and benefits administration processes.

Work Schedule and Location

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Plantation, Florida. Working days are Monday through Friday.
