Role overview
This contract opportunity is for a proactive HR Project Officer to support a newly formed government organisation. The assignment runs for an initial period of 3 months and is suited to someone who can contribute to the setup and growth of the entity while handling a broad range of HR support tasks. The role is based on VPS 4 rates.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver day-to-day HR administration and project assistance across multiple people-focused initiatives.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and activities across the employee lifecycle.
- Help design and roll out HR policies, procedures, and related operational processes.
- Manage project coordination tasks, keep records and documentation up to date, and compile reports as needed.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to keep HR projects and initiatives moving forward on schedule.
- Contribute to change management and organisational development work when required.
About you
We are looking for someone with prior experience in an HR Officer, HR Coordinator, HR Project Officer, or comparable position. Experience within the Victorian Government, local government, or the wider public sector is important. You should bring a solid understanding of HR practices, policies, and employment processes, along with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. A high level of organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities will help you succeed in this role.
