Grounds and Maintenance Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Grounds and Maintenance Officer to ensure the smooth upkeep of our Retirement Village. In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for routine building repairs, landscaping, and maintaining outdoor areas to create a welcoming and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance tasks including repairs and preventive upkeep of buildings and equipment
• Use machinery such as ride-on mowers and tractors to maintain lawn and garden areas
• Maintain gardens, walkways, and external spaces to a high standard, including rubbish removal, watering, pruning, and planting
• Ensure tools and machinery are properly maintained and safely handled, including chemical use
• Keep accurate maintenance logs, support compliance with safety regulations, and adhere to health and safety protocols
• Manage stock control and assist with administrative duties like updating records and processing invoices
• Collaborate within a respectful, cooperative multidisciplinary team environment

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in general gardening and maintenance work
• Understanding of Workplace Health & Safety Standards specific to groundskeeping and maintenance
• Competence in using power garden tools and operating ride-on mowers
• Possession of a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
