Role Overview
As a Garment Quality Team Leader based in Newcastle, South Africa, you will lead a group of 10–15 quality inspectors, overseeing their performance and enhancing inspection standards. The role combines team supervision, technical coaching, client engagement, and operational management with a strong focus on delivering superior inspection services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor a team of 10-15 inspectors through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), taking corrective measures based on evaluation results.
- Serve as a trainer and mentor, offering technical guidance and conducting performance reviews and on-site audits.
- Cultivate team cohesion and affiliation to QIMA’s culture and values.
- Identify and implement improvements to service quality to avoid inspection issues.
- Lead investigations on client claims and ensure corrective action plans are executed effectively.
- Represent QIMA in customer meetings to support regional sales, provide technical expertise, and initiate inspection programs.
- Oversee all operational aspects of inspection programs for key accounts in the region.
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and factories where inspections occur.
- Optimize processes to reduce operational costs within the region.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Master’s degree in engineering with robust knowledge of Quality Management or Product Organization.
- Hands-on experience performing quality control inspections coupled with eagerness to refine internal procedures.
- Technology-oriented mindset comfortable with digital tools.
- Strong motivation and capacity to manage large teams, focused on performance management.
- Willingness to travel for team engagement and client visits.
- Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English.
