Job description
About the Role
This position is based at Falls Fabricating, LLC in Coimbatore North, Tamil Nadu, India, focusing on the forming department. The Forming Operator will work under the supervision of a manager and is responsible for operating press brakes and tube benders with precision, ensuring product meets specifications, while adhering to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret detailed prints and shop routing instructions accurately.
- Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, squares, and angle devices precisely, with increments down to 1/32" and .001".
- Operate press brake machinery with the capability to handle diverse material thicknesses and complex bends.
- Make adjustments to maintain tolerances and optimize machine productivity.
- Work with various inputs including drawings, NC/CNC tapes, and computer programs to operate different press brake equipment.
- Read, write, and modify CNC and other programming as required.
- Plan and layout equipment setups to achieve specified bend radius, angles, and forms.
- Design and develop jigs and fixtures as necessary.
- Operate tube bending equipment and assist with two-person forming jobs.
- Identify and manage nonconforming products and address quality issues proactively.
- Understand and support compliance with ISO-9001:2015 quality management systems.
- Participate in quality audits and create quality plans accordingly.
- Perform all tasks following established safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Have authority to halt production if product quality is compromised.
- Initiate corrective and preventive actions to support ISO certification requirements.
Requirements
- Previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to stand and walk continuously during shifts.
- Capability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel and reach regularly.
- Physical strength to lift and move materials as needed.
- Basic understanding of ISO quality and documentation systems.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday
- First shift: 6 AM to 4:30 PM
- Second shift: 4:30 PM to 3 AM
